The Canberra Raiders recorded their first loss of the season, going down 36-14 to the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale oval.
The Raiders played reasonable well in the first half, going into the break with a 2-point lead.
Unfortunately poor ball security, and poor discipline, let them down in the second half.
The Sea Eagles were much more enthusiastic in attack, and successfully repelled the Raiders close to their own line.

The Sea Eagles first try came in extremely controversial circumstances, when it appeared a Raiders defender was taken in a head high tackle by Eagles Five Eighth, Michael Witt. He subsequently dropped the ball, allowing the eagles an easy stroll over the line. Video referee Tim Mander, appeared to ignore the high shot and awarded the try. We will here plenty more about that one.
Ultimately that decision wasn’t the difference between the sides, with the Raiders being totally outplayed. Lets just hope they can pick themselves up for a better showing next week.
