SNOWYfest Winners Nominated for 2007 OSCARS

Winners of SNOWYfest 2005 and 2006 have been nominated for Oscars in the Best Live Action Short Film category. The Saviour from Australians Peter Templeman & Stuart Parkyn took home a prize at SNOWYfest in 2005 and Binta & The Great Idea in 2006.

THE SAVIOUR is the story of Malcolm, a door-to-door Mormon evangelist, who is in love with a married woman. Producer Stuart Parkyn and Director Peter Templeman are graduates of the Australian Film, Television & Radio School. A Superb film! It will be screening at Canberra Shorts (www.canberrashorts.com) at the Holy Grail next Thursday 1 February.

From Spanish filmmaker, BINTA & THE GREAT IDEA is about a seven-year-old African girl who tells the stories of her cousin, who longs to go to school, and her father, who has an idea that he hopes will change the world. Brilliant film!

Peter Templeman and Stuart Parkyn has been previously shortlisted for an OSCAR for their brilliant short film SPLINTERED, which was the inaugrual winner of SNOWYfest in 2004. They are rare filmmakers and are destined for great success as filmmakers.
