Spit Roast Hire in Canberra?

J_S 16 June 2020 8

I am looking to hire a spit roast and buy some beef for a party next month. I have been searching the internet for a while and have come up with few options. There are a few catering places that will come and do all the work for you, and only one place (that I found) from which you can hire the spit to do it all yourself.

So, does anyone know of a good (and relatively cheap) place from where I could hire a spit (preferably gas, but wouldn’t completely reject a coal spit)? And then I guess a good butcher to get good quality and relatively cheap spit roast beef?

If you’re looking for a good caterer, check out our recently updated article on the best catering services in Canberra.

Yeah I used Jordos at Xmas for two full Lambs and a third spit with beef and pork.
It was fantastic. They came and dropped it off, gave all the advice needed and were super helpful.
Heaps better and cheaper than anyone else

Yea, Jordo’s is the one that I did manage to find in my previous search. Looks like I’ll end up going with them. Thanks for the responses!

make sure you spit the whole beast… none of this pre-prepared roast…
where’s the fun unless you get to shove an apple in the critter’s mouth?

Jordos Chop Shop is definately the way to go. His spits are great and his meat is world class!

Jordo’s Chop Shop in the Wanniassa shops does it. Google it, they have a website.
