Temora Aviation Museum is excited to announce ‘A Day at the Lake’ and is inviting everyone to soak up live music while viewing vintage aircraft displays.
The spectacular fusion of music and aviation and will be held at Lake Centenary in Temora on 21 October from 11 am to 8:30 pm.
“We’re thrilled to showcase both the vintage ex-military aircraft that have played a significant role in our nation’s story and the incredible talent of local musicians,” said Temora Aviation Museum deputy CEO Peter Harper.
“A Day at the Lake is a testament to our dedication to creating memorable experiences for our community and visitors.
“The day promises an exhilarating blend of music and aviation, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Centenary.”
The day will include live performances by Mitch Hertz and Three Pistol Midnight and will end with a 60-minute concert by the Baker Boys.
There will also be a variety of culinary delights from food vendors from across the Riverina, including Coolamon Cheese, Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory, Borambola Wines and Corowa Distillery.
Visitors will be able to explore market stalls featuring local goods and crafts and support the vibrant community of Temora and the surrounding region.
Children will have a dedicated kids’ zone with two jumping castles, a five-in-one combo jumping castle, snow cones, popcorn, fairy floss and an array of games, including naughts and crosses, corn throw, tug-of-war and more.
Visitors will be able to experience the Air Force flying simulator free of charge. The state-of-the-art virtual reality simulator is an immersive flying experience in which people can fly the F/A-18 Classic Hornet alone. Officer aviation specialists will assist guests through the flight simulator experience and answer any questions about jobs in the Air Force.
A shuttle bus will run throughout the event, connecting Paleface Park in the town centre to the Temora Aviation Museum and Lake Centenary in a 30-minute loop. Ample parking will also be available at the lake and the museum.
