The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has released a list of flypasts it will be conducting to commemorate Anzac Day ceremonies on 25 April.
The Riverina region will be treated to a number of flypasts from the RAAF’s 100 Squadron, which is based at the world-renowned Temora Aviation Museum.
While the release didn’t specify which aircraft will conduct the flypasts, 100 Squadron operates a variety of aircraft including a Lockheed Hudson, English Electric Canberra, Gloster Meteor, De Havilland Vampire, Cessna A-37, CAC Mustang, De Havilland Tiger Moth, CAC Winjeel, Supermarine Spitfire, and Cessna O-2 Bird Dog. Some or all of these are expected to feature in the flypasts.
The 100 Squadron aircraft are expected to visit the following towns:
- Uranquity at 9 am
- Wallendbeen between 9 am and 10 am
- Zamara Lodge at Springdale at 9:15 am
- Boorowa between 9:50 am and 10:50 am
- Coolamon Road at Coolamon between 10 am and 11:30 am
- Hay War Memorial in Hay between 10:15 am and 11 am
Other 100 Squadron flypasts will occur at:
- Yenda between 10:30 am and 11 am
- Griffith between 10:50 am and 11:50 am
- The Lockhart Cenotaph in Lockhart between 10:30 am and 1:30 am
- The Cenotaph in the Victory Memorial Gardens at Wagga between 10 am and 1 pm
- Cootamundra at 10:45 am
- The Cenotaph at The Rock at 10:45 am
- Callaghan Park in Temora between 11 am and 11:40 am
- The Junee RSL in Junee at 11:10 am
- The Ardlethan Lions Club at Ardlethan at 11:30 am
An RAAF Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules from 37 Squadron based at Richmond will also conduct flypasts of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra at 9:35 am, the Crookwell Memorial Park in Crookwell at 11:23 am, and the Merimbula RSL in Merimbula at 11:55 am.
As with all air displays, the RAAF says all of these times are subject to change due to weather or aircraft availability.
