The Bridge Formerly Known as Red in action

Yesterday I was granted the privilege of being the first person to ride through the new bridge on the Molonglo River near RMC.

I can report that it works fine. The slight curve in the middle shouldn’t cause any problems, even for newbies, and the dark grey paint hardly impinges on the view of the river that has to be seen to be believed, the water just passes by with hardly a ripple.

The workmen on site told me that the bridge is expected to be open sometime this afternoon, for all the Johnny-come-latelies that is 😉
