The Canberra Times reports that Isa Islam (aka The Preacher) has been sentenced to nine years, with a non-parole period of four years and six months for his frenzed stabbing attack on Andrew Dyer at the Ainslie shops in July 2009.
Islam, who has been in custody since the day of the stabbing in July 2009, will be eligible for release in January 2014…
Islam has previously indicated a desire to appeal against acting Justice Mathews’ guilty verdict.
