The Canberra Symphony Orchestra is letting us know about their upcoming prom concert in the grounds of Goverment House:

What better way to kick off the CSO’s year of Centenary of Canberra celebrations than with a multicultural feast of music in the grounds of Government House. In 2013 the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Shell Prome Concert is supported by the Delegation of the European Union as a gift to Canberra.

This “European Picnic” will feature a selection of music from the twenty-seven nations of the European Union represented in our multicultural capital. With the charming Guy Noble conducting, let the CSO be your guide as we navigate the beautiful Blue Danube and dance together at a ball in Vienna.

“For many people, classical music is synonymous with Europe. So it is with great pleasure that the Delegation of the European Union to Australia supports the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in bringing you this special concert with a repertoire chosen for its representativeness and diversity of the rich culture of our member states”, said Ambassador David Daly, Head of the EU Delegation to Australia.

The CSO is also proud to once again welcome Shell Australia as our corporate partner for this concert. Shell have been supporting and attending the Prom since 1984. Their enduring relationship with this iconic family event continues to connect them with the Canberra Community and enable the CSO to provide tickets at a discounted and therefore more accessible price.

Tickets are available from Canberra Ticketing.
