Welcome to The RiotACT Gig Guide for the 14th to the 20th of February! This guide’s photo features Immorium, one of Canberra’s most sensational death metal bands – having just recently opened for the legendary Dragonforce, they will be returning to the stage to open for Ne Obliviscaris, one of Australia’s biggest metal acts. By the way, expect a new Immorium album sometime later this year! The show starts from 7 pm at The Basement – it should be an enormous night!
On Friday, comedy folk duo Sparrow-Folk will be launching a new album at the Old Canberra Inn with help from local folksters The Burley Griffin. Legendary jazz maestro George Washingmachine will be back on home soil, playing at Smith’s Alternative from 7 pm. Meanwhile, there will be a big show at the Transit Bar as they host Sydney indie punk band Speakeasy along with Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Elk Locker and Lefty.
Sydney shoegazers SNAPE will be releasing their new LP ‘Always’ at Mulgara on Saturday with locals Shoeb Ahmad and Dog Name, while Transit Bar will host a huge hip-hop night starring Black Milk, along with local hip-hop acts D’Opus Roshambo, Jedbrii, KG and Lash. And another big show on Monday – Magic Rob Universe at The Phoenix, what more needs to be said?
