Good afternoon and welcome to the RiotACT Gig Guide for this week, the 14th to the 20th of June! We have a couple of big farewells this Saturday: PROM (pictured) are finally graduating at the Gorman Arts Centre with a little help from Dead DJ Joke, The Gaps play their final show with their current line-up at Lobrow and, of course, the ANU Bar has its last hurrah with a slew of resurrected bands. Another farewell takes place the night before, with Fossil Rabbit playing at Smith’s Alternative, with Aphir (who is incredible live!) and Ben Drury opening the show. Mikelangelo is playing on Friday night with special guest Konrad Lenz, while on the same night Beth Orton – who we played an interview of on LocalNLive conducted by local musical heavyweight Shoeb Ahmad – hits the Canberra Theatre. Sex On Toast return again to Transit Bar, the Basement hold Brutalcoustic and House of Strangers launch their new single, ‘Poison Pill’. And might I also add that the Necks are playing this Sunday at the Street Theatre – they are an experience!
