Check out ‘Azim Zain & His Lovely Bones’ this Saturday at The Phoenix starting from 8 pm, as part of Nightmare On East Row II.

Good afternoon, one and all: The RiotACT Gig Guide is back, this time for the 25th to the 31st of October.

The photo this week, as kindly supplied by the band themselves, features ‘Azim Zain & His Lovely Bones!’ Anyone who knows Canberra music has heard this indie-pop wonder by now, who have only just recently dropped a brand new EP entitled Between Who We Are and Who We Used To Be. They are playing as part of ‘The Phoenix’s Halloween show, Nightmare On East Row II’, alongside ‘Raised As Wolves’, ‘Dalmacia’, ‘Lefty’ and ‘Lady Denman’, starting 8 pm.

RAAVE TAPES will be in town as part of their k bye tour, playing with ‘Teen Jesus’ and the ‘Jean Teasers’, ‘Dalmacia’ and ‘Sodium Sunday’ at Transit Bar this Thursday, while ‘PTSD’ play with ‘BB & The Blips’ over at The Front on the same night. On Friday the legendary ‘Vee Bees’ will be back in town, starring at The Phoenix from 8 pm along with ‘Meat Cake’, ‘Coffin’ and ‘Dickie Birds’. The Basement has a huge Friday planned with METAL FIESTA 13, and MC KREWD will be back as part of KREWDBits, a show not meant for the faint of heart!

Not only will ‘Genesis Owusu’ once again grace the Transit Bar stage this Saturday, but Lobrow Gallery and Bar will sadly be holding its last ever gig. Make sure to farewell its short-lived but top-notch gig-hosting career by checking out the Coffo Records launch there, featuring ‘Bottle Brush’, ‘First Gulf War’, and many more.
