The Sam Sessions, a big weekend in music

We’ve been sent details on a great reason to look forward to the start of June with two big nights of music to celebrate the opening of Sam King’s new recording studio.

Musicians will use any excuse for a party… and the opening of Canberra’s newest studio ‘I Am Merloc Studios’ was all the opportunity that the region’s biggest bands needed to put together the ‘The Sam Sessions’. Fondly named after Studio owner Sam King, ‘The Sam Sessions’ is a musical tribute of epic proportions, spilling over the first weekend of June.

Personally my favourite memory of Sam was during Amanda Palmer’s wild night in Canberra when he was accompanying the great lady on guitar and she asked “What songs do you know”.

His girlfriend Emma piped up “Sam knows ALL the songs”.

Either way you’re going to have a great time at either of these evenings.
