Trees and witches hats

Bunda Street’s “Trees” have been improved with a pair of witches hats that fit so snugly you’d think they were made for it.

Should they stay or go?

Gives them a little personality, don’t it?

Is that defacing or improving public property?

Magistrate: Young Thug, you are hereby charged with Improving Public Property. How do you plead?
Young Thug: Not guilty your honour, I was attempting to deface it.
Magistrate: Well in that you failed. I hereby sentence you to ten years of dark chocolate at the Hume Hilton.

Public art with humour – brilliant.

I think it looks great, and i’m afraid to think of the cost to remove them (3 men, a cherry picker, on site supervisor etc).

I wonder how they got them up there in the first place.

What I love the most is what it will involve to get the government to actually remove them. Probably 3 guys in a truck, pulling an EWP behind it, on a Sunday on double time and a half. Hell, they might even put the whole cone removal out to tender as it’s just too much work.

Keep them. The installation was absurd to begin with. Why not make it a little more absurd?
