I believe they can separate Siamese cats.

Ohhhh fantastic! I’ve often seen eagles flying in that area from Hindmarsh Drive.

lol, I’ll pay that.

Beautiful birds. We get them hovering around the farm. Love them. Chooks have a roof so not too concerned. Supposedly they take lambs, but never seen it myself. Flies, on the other hand, can kill sheep left, right and center.

Brilliant Kim, this beastie does not appear to have vegetarian tendencies.
I wonder if this was the little hawk called Narrabundah by the aboriginal people.
Any expert advice from ornithologists or twitches? Welcome
Keep an eye out for it on the wing.

You can often see wedgies circling high above the southern suburbs – but it takes some looking! Something up there caught my eye one day, and it was a wedgie, way up there, watchfully gliding. Beautiful.

Some breeds of chooks will make a distinct sound/call when there is a preadator bird like that up high in the sky. It’s a good one to learn if you want them all to dart back into a saft back corner of their run for any reason.

Awesome shots. “Biggest Eagle in the world” according to the Namadgi visitors centre.

Awesome pics. Such great animals.

Was recently at bredbo getting firewood when we drove past some sort of eagle dining on a road kill wild pig. The eagle was huge and just looked at us as we drove past.

Amazing. Wish I had a dash cam.

What a boss.

Can anyone give a rough estimate on the size of this bird? Looking at those pictures, it looks about 3-4 times the size of an average magpie.

Lovely! I love raptors.

Was about a metre tall. Magies and Currawongs weren’t happy with his/her presence

If it was about metre tall, it’s getting close to full size “A large brown bird of prey, it has a wingspan of up to 2.27 m (7 ft 5 in) and a length up to 1.06 m (3 ft 6 in).”

Some cool videos of them on YouTube, including one dude toying with them with a radio controlled aircraft. Not too cool to get too close to them with a spinning prop tho.
