BLONK!

Local poetry wizards Andrew Galan and Amelia Filmer-Sankey (who you may remember we had on the RiotWRAP a few weeks back) are starting up a new bimonthly poetry event at the ANU Food Co-op.

Entry is by donation, and to kick this thing off with a bang they’ve collected a stellar bunch of poets to do feature sets.

Local poets Paul Magee, Bela Farkas, and Aaron Kirby will be accompanied by Candy Royalle from Sydney.

We featured Candy Royalle at Bad!Slam! No!Biscuit! last night and she was absolutely brilliant. This is your only remaining opportunity to catch her while she’s in town, and you would be a fool not to grab onto this chance and devour it.

Word Co-op is a bimonthly poetry night dedicated to showcasing poetry, providing a forum for extended performances, and combining multiple poetry aesthetics. Every second month of the year a mix-up of four Australian Capital Territory poets with inter-state and international poets will be providing you with their words. All taking place in the relaxed and open atmosphere of the Australian National University Food Co-op. Word Co-op is an opportunity for diverse voices to take part in an event that they can define and enjoy; and an opportunity for audiences to experience a full spectrum of poetic forms.
