“This is a light and entertaining way to socialise and meet new people,” says Annabelle Berieau, Operations Manager at Pialligo Estate. “It’s designed around a quality experience more than an intense yoga class. No yoga experience is required.”
Yoga has cemented its place as an activity in the world of fitness that offers fun and flexibility through classes that aren’t intimidating or competitive.
“In today’s hectic world, we need yoga to bring balance to our lives,” says Kate Haskard, the new owner of Balanced Yoga Kingston. “It’s not just for the super flexible, it’s for anyone who wants to combine movement, breathing and peace of mind, the perfect trilogy for staying fit and healthy.”
This will be the second Vino and Vinyasa event, with the last one selling out almost a fortnight beforehand. More than 70 attended, with the vast majority new to Balanced Yoga.
“We even had attendees travelling from Melbourne for Vino and Vinyasa,” says Kate.
Kate is putting on the event with the former owner of Balanced Yoga, Sue McShane (now retired). The pair have special yoga poses in store for participants.
“Last time instead of the traditional ‘Tree pose’ we did a ‘Red wine glass pose,’” Kates says. “This time we’ll have a play with yoga’s famous ‘Warrior pose’, which represents strength.”
Tickets include a complimentary glass of wine and in addition to sipping while doing yoga, participants can soak in the ambience of Pialligo Estate’s special Glasshouse, a beautiful and tranquil space featuring high glass walls and a lush garden feature.
Once participants have worked up an appetite, they can stay after the class for a special Pialligo Friday night drinks package—Enchiladas with Pialligo Estate Wine, $60 for two persons.
“We’ll be hosting the drinks in the Glasshouse so participants can stay sitting on their yoga mats and enjoy a picnic indoors,” says Annabelle.
Tickets are $25, with $5 donated to Frontline Yoga, an organisation that provides free yoga to frontline professionals including current and ex-serving police, fire, ambulance and military personnel, healthcare workers, lifesavers, RFS/SES and volunteer paramedics.
Places are strictly limited, so book early (participants must be 18 years of age). Vino and Vinyasa runs for an hour, starting at 5:15 pm (participants are encouraged to arrive by 5 pm).
