Zed Seselja is making noise about the worrying side of the latest crime statistics:
“Whilst there have been improvements in some areas there are still significant areas of concern that need to be addressed. I am particularly concerned about the rise of violent offences in our community,” Mr Seselja said today.
“In recent months we have seen some very public assaults where victims have needed hospitalisation, including the alleged stabbing at the Belconnen bus interchange and the assault at Erindale McDonald’s.
“Both incidents occurred in front of other members of the community, causing very distressing memories for them to now deal with.
“These sorts of incidents have no place in our city and we should be doing all we can to prevent them. The ACT Government needs to outline what strategies they will put in place to reduce the number of violent assaults,” Mr Seselja concluded.
