Fire at the Tuggers Aldi

ACT Fire & Rescue has forced entry to a closed Tuggeranong Supermarket to extinguish a fire in an unattended oven.

Crews were alerted to the fire at 4.24am following an Automatic Fire Alarm from the ALDI Supermarket at Tuggeranong Homeworld, Reed and Scollay Streets, Greenway.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke logging inside and the quickly extinguished the fire in the oven at the supermarket which was unattended at the time.

Minor damage contained to the oven with no other businesses in the precinct affected.

Crews are conducting ventilation and air monitoring operations and will soon depart the scene.

Three fire pumpers, the Breathing Apparatus Van, the Hazardous Materials Unit and a Command Officer were called to the scene.
