Geoscience Australia’s Open Day is always wildly popular with our readers.

They’ve sent in some information on this year:

A range of science talks, tours and activities for all ages throughout the day highlighting Geoscience Australia’s broad range of work.

See the new robot which helps to make your GPS more accurate, find out how earthquakes are detected, pan for gold, make your own slime, check out Australia in 3D, or become a seafloor detective. Spot a roving Erth dinosaur or have a chat with a geoscientist.

When: Sunday 18 August 2013, 10am – 4pm
Where: Geoscience Australia, Cnr Hindmarsh Dr and Jerrabomberra Ave, Symonston ACT
