Hi, this is my first thread and sort of a two-parter… I saw a feature in the Canberra Times on the weekend about the writer Brendan Shanahan who’s an ex-Canberran and was the year above me at Narrabundah College. It got me thinking about the number of well-known people who seem to have come out of Narrabundah, especially in the arts and entertainment. I’m thinking of Helen Razer, The Doug Anthony All Stars, Tim Friedman (I think??) and the boys from Youth Group. Maybe I’m biased because I went there, but does this school produce more famous creative types than any other in Canberra? The second thing I started wondering was whether can think of any famous “Canberra expats” – people who are associated with Canberra, who talk about it in the media or whatever? There are lots of sports stars from Canberra, they might be a start.
