Shane Rattenbury has announced some numbers about the Centenary bus loop. Supposedly 37,957 passengers have ridden the bus in its first 100 days of service. That seems like quite a lot of people.
“The Centenary Loop bus has been popular in its first 100 days of service with an average of 379 passengers per day,” Mr Rattenbury said.
“The highest daily recorded patronage occurred on Saturday 16 March 2013 with 727 people using the service. April was the most popular month with a total of 13,078 passengers using the service across the month.
“The free bus service, which commenced on Monday 4 February 2013, has been providing locals and visitors to the Territory with a regular and convenient way to commute to our national institutions.
“It’s a good result so far and I hope patronage continues to grow as more and more people become aware of the Centenary Bus Loop.
