Back in October 2008 John Hargreaves announced a quickie round of consultation before he splurged $4 million on the increasingly cosmopolitan Bunda St in Civic.
Jon Stanhope is now asking the community to come down and have their say about the plans tomorrow at Crowne Plaza.
- ACT Government representatives will be at the Crowne Plaza in Civic tomorrow (Wednesday) between 6-8pm to talk to Canberrans about the planned works.
Options on the table for the $4 million upgrade are new paving, lighting, street furniture and trees.
Mr Stanhope said the draft plans were put together following an initial community consultation session in late 2008.
“The ACT Government is committed to revitalising Bunda Street which is home to some of Canberra’s favourite restaurants and shops.
“We want Canberrans to give us feedback on how the multi-million dollar refurbishment can strike the right balance between the commuters, pedestrians and bike riders who frequently use the area.”
Construction is expected to start later this year.
And how can we have any discussion of Bunda St without considering that in Portugese it means bottom.
