ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to property damage that occurred at a Wanniassa primary school yesterday evening (Sunday, July 14).
At 5.30pm police attended St Anthony’s Primary school in response to a report of property damaged at the location.
Police observed a broken glass pane in one of the classroom doors as well as damage to a number of security cameras.
Around 6.30pm further property damage was reported at the location and police found a second window pane on a door smashed.
Superintendent Paul Shakeshaft said this is the second incident of property damage at a school over the school holidays following an incident at Daramalan College last week.
“ACT Policing is treating any incident of property damage at schools very seriously and will continue to have extra patrols at ACT schools during this term, as part of ‘Operation School Safe’.”
“We encourage all residents who live near schools to be extra vigilant. If you see anything suspicious, give police a call,” Superintendent Shakeshaft said.
ACT Policing urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
