Tuesday Parking Adventures!

Parking doesn’t stop on public holidays, but I do.

I hope your long weekend was as long as your sleep-ins Rioters, however the weekend is over.

It’s week-time now, and week-time is time to get serious.

Serious about bad parking.

Not only was this taxi driver not disabled and not entitled to park here he was abusive when his picture was snapped. Yep go him.

giulia definitely takes the cake though…and the mirror..

Personally I don’t see the issue and agree rather they park like this than on the road.

That said of parking on the nature strip (even if there is no foot path too) is against the rules.

I don’t know that street (#1) but outside my place there is quite a noticeable slowing of traffic when cars park on the street. It’s fairly narrow, no white lines, so a bit of a chicane when cars park on both sides. As it is a surburban street with children and pets around, I’m quite happy to have people slow things down.

Our regulatory overloads are pretty dense sometimes, I too live on a narrow street (a circuit no less with no streets coming off it).

All they’d have to do is paint a yellow line down one side of the street, no need for ugly signs, and one would only be allowed to park on one side.

Much safer than allowing parking, ad hoc, on both sides, and still achieves an aim in slowing moving traffic; at least in theory.

Perhaps a chat from Jeremy regarding the importance of at least appearing to care about the constituency you purport to want to serve.

It never ceases to amaze me how people that have a business name (or their name as the case may be here) drive/park like complete tools.

Is it a case of any publicity is good publicity?

There are probably better ways of getting your name out there. I for one steer clear of businesses that attract my attention this way.

Does it include the right to not only park like a tool but also to drive like a tool? That would be quite a large membership in Canberra.

I think you we should be able to pay to become a premium Canberra resident. Once you become a premium resident you then get different number plates and can park any where you want and also get free bus passes and free taxi rides back from the pub.
