Budget New Year's Eve venue

Hi guys,

I am really keen to have a New Year’s Eve wedding and wondering if anyone knows of any budget venues that would potentially allow us to stay until 1am. Most venues close at 12am but considering it’s New Year’s Eve I’m hoping to find somewhere that’s more flexible on this.

Also has anyone had experience planning a wedding where you didn’t tell the venue that it was a wedding? I’ve heard of people telling the venue that it’s just a family function or something as a lot of places will up the price of everything for weddings. My concern is that when you tell them it’s a wedding they probably go a bit above and beyond and am I risking anything by not telling them.

Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

I think a budget place on NYE is also difficult, because getting staff to work then is difficult and especially on NYE when they may want to celebrate it with their friends and family also (added to this is no penalty rates either). While its true that places hike their fees for weddings, there are many reports of places providing a bad service if its a wedding and they were not told. Whereas I’ve heard car hire and flowers etc get hiked if they know its a wedding, but I think the risk is far less to you if you don’t tell them as once you have the car of flowers there is not much they can do.
Can’t help you with venues, but I think you are going to have a real struggle with this.
