Roller derby is the only full contact sport that adult men and women (or any gender) play together as equals, with no rule changes*. And you can see it this Saturday 16 July when Varsity Derby League‘s Smackademics take on ‘The World’, a special one-off team for this event. Fresh from a win in Perth against Swan City, the Smackademics are ready to show you their winning moves in their first home game of 2016. Don’t miss this – it’s going to be a very competitive game.
There’s trackside seating so you can see the game up close, and priority seating for people who have mobility needs. Kids under 12 are free with an adult ticket.
Our sponsor Occasional Cakes Canberra will be donating a delicious, stupendous Smackademics-themed cake for auction at the event, and we’ll have our licensed bar, kiosk and bake sale too.
Date: Saturday 16 July
Time: Doors 6.30 pm, start 7 pm
Location: Southern Cross Basketball Stadium, Tuggeranong
Tickets: $10 + bf at VarsityDerbyLeague.com or $10 at the door.
* As far as we know in organised sport. If there are others, that’s great – the more the merrier! Let us know – we’d love to make friends with other sporting codes that are doing this.
