Removing redfin and carp from the lake won’t make it native friendly.

Moving Canberra and Queanbeyan away from the lake would. The road runoff, raw sewerage, chemical spills and other filth that enters the lake are the problem.

Some scientists have even recommended draining the lake and starting again.

Would be nice to have Pandanus in there instead of carp tho…

That is one very nice fishing kayak, well laid out and equipped. My preference is to fish from a canoe as I can take the kids with me. Fish/depth sounder and GPS are the electronics.

Zedwad, lighten up! The lake might be a relatively young ecosystem (albeit manmade) but it is habitat for a number of native species that would prosper in the absence of redfin (and carp). I was disappointed that he threw them back in instead of quickly killing them thus removing them from the lake.

I hope you don’t think the same thing when hundreds of humans are killed in mudslides and earthquakes. After all, we’re pests as well. And humans do much more damage than redfin.

I think I saw a fish-finder (bigger) and GPS receiver (Smaller, with antenna wart). As-to make/model/capabilities: meh.
