ninemsn (the Canberra Times and ABC Canberra must have gone home for their evening naps) is reporting that there has been a fire at Bega Court in Reid this evening (3 May). No loss of life or transportation to hospital, but a fair bit of damage to a unit and from smoke.
Weeks after announcing it was considering levelling the place as part of a sale and redevelopment of 3 sites, it seems like a good time to wonder if it was an attempt at a pre-budget inititive for the insurance, or maybe a tenant left their dinner on the stove too long?
Probably the latter, but it’s fun to speculate anyway.
