Jon Stanhope is to open the new Koomarri Centre at 11.oo this morning. The new centre is on the corner of Launceston and Callam Sts in Phillip.
In September last year it caught on fire twice, the second time fairly seriously, in what police called suspicious circumstances.
Mr Stanhope says it was rebuilt after “a flood of community support”, and the results will be seen today. Koomarri also took out a full page ad in today’s Canberra Times thanking all the people and businesses who donated money and services to help them rebuild the centre.
