Police call for witnesses, information about "suspicious" blaze at Giralang home

Witnesses to a “suspicious” house fire in Giralang are being asked to come forward to police.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said ACT Fire & Rescue and police were called to Gidjili Place in Giralang at about 10:30 pm overnight (Sunday, 1 December).

On arrival, they were able to contain a house fire.

“Following an examination of the scene, the fire was deemed suspicious, and police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident,” the spokesperson said.

No one was injured in the fire.

Police have called for anyone with information, anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity of Gidjili Place before 10:30 pm last night, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area before or during the fire to come forward.

People are asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000 or by visiting the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Quote reference number 7915335.
