Police seek help to locate missing hikers - FOUND

UPDATE (Saturday 6 April, 9:15 am) – Jacqueline and Benedict have been located safe and well. ACT Policing would like to thank everybody who provided assistance.


ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate missing hikers, 54-year-old Jacqueline Hattingh and 43-year-old Benedict Keaney.

Jacqueline and Benedict were last seen yesterday afternoon (Friday, 5 April 2019) at Benedict’s home in Lyneham. However, they are believed to have gone hiking in the areas near ‘Smokers Trail’ west of Paddy’s River.

Jacqueline is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 163cm (5’4”) tall, with a slim build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Benedict is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 168cm (5’6”) tall, with a slim build and short black hair.

Anyone who has seen Jacqueline and Benedict, or who has information on their whereabouts is urged to contact police operations on 131 444. Please quote reference 6381858. Information can be provided anonymously.
