Yes, it’s present – in trace amounts far below that required to produce any pharmacological effects whatsoever. The active ingredient in absinthe is alcohol, nothing more. Any ‘buzz’ you get beyond drunkedness is entirely in your imagination.

I believe bonfire is the resident expert on absinthe, he must have some real work to do unfortunately.

There’s next to no thujone in any absinthe, and there never has been.

I suspect that the Hungarian stuff is a close relative of the Czech! I ended up passing out on a tram, getting off-loaded by the driver I knew not where and ended up wandering the streets for hours trying to find my hotel.
