The Queensland coroner will hand down his report today on the Dreamworld tragedy in 2016 that killed four people – three of whom were Canberrans.
Canberra mother Kate Goodchild, 32, her brother Luke Dorsett, 35, his partner Roozi Araghi, 38, and Sydney woman Cindy Low, 42, were killed when the Thunder River Rapids Ride collided with an empty raft after a pump failed at the Queensland theme park.
Kate’s 12-year-old daughter and Cindy’s 10-year-old son survived the accident, while Kate’s husband David watched the incident unfold with their eight-month-old baby nearby.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the findings would allow family members, and those affected by the tragedy, to finally find closure.
Coroner James McDougall handed down his report at 11:00 am AEDT. The full report is expected to be made public this afternoon.
