The Greater Western Sydney Giants (that’s Canberra’s AFL team for those who have forgotten) have proudly announced what they’ve gained from the new AFL TV rights deal:
The club applauds the efforts of the AFL and the broadcasters to reach a deal which will provide improved access to all supporters at this critical time in the code’s expansion.
In NSW and the ACT:
— All 42 matches involving the GWS Giants and the Sydney Swans will be broadcast on free to air television, either live or on delay.
— All home matches will be broadcast near live on free to air and live from Fox Sports on Foxtel and Austar.
— A minimum of four matches per week to be broadcast on free to air, with all matches to be shown live.
— Every match of every week through the premiership season, as well as all matches through the Toyota AFL — Finals Series, will be available live on Telstra’s mobile platform.
— All nine matches per week live from FOX Sports on Foxtel and Austar
— No matches lost to blackspots on Saturdays or Sundays, with all matches broadcast live into the state from Fox Sports on Foxtel and Austar.
Because if you’re not watching live, you can’t place a bet on it.
