Canberra’s beloved cabaret duo Shortis and Simpson is celebrating its 50th year at Belconnen Arts Centre. The show combines Shortis’s unconventional delivery with Simpson’s talent to switch between classics during their performances. This show embodies life in the 50s with a mixture of songs, stories and nostalgia.

As the European soccer season ends and the itch for more starts to kick in, Token Arcade & Kitchen will convert their space to a FIFA festival zone. From 8 pm, the best teams will compete in a series of Swiss-style tournament rounds to decide a winner. Suketu Radia (aka DJ Suketu) is an Indian-born DJ, music producer and social media personality. Known in India for hits like ‘Bin Tere Sanam’, ‘Pyaar Zindagi’ and ‘Woh Lamhe’, Suketu has been hailed as the No 1 DJ of Bollywood music. His remixes are extremely popular in nightclubs all around Mumbai. He is also the only Indian producer to have collaborated on mixes with Flo Rida, Iyaz and Sean Kingston … and now you can catch him at Zoo Bar.

Rauschenberg & Johns Significant Others

The exhibition will feature prints from the Kenneth Tyler Collection of the National Gallery with works by Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. In 1950, at the peak of the Abstract Expressionist movement, two young artists began to develop a distinct avant-garde style. Johns and Rauschenberg’s work together is pure radicalism. By portraying everyday objects, they subverted the myth that all artists are visionaries.

The Initiation is about the horrors of the early teen experience, that uncanny period between childhood and fully becoming an adult, and the scary things you feel you have to do to get through.
