Police claim the shotgun used in the alleged robbery of Nick Kyrgios’ Tesla has been seized, along with other weapons and a rented car.
It is alleged a 32-year-old man robbed Mr Kyrgios’s mother at gunpoint on Monday morning (1 May) before taking off in the Canberra tennis star’s green Tesla.
Court documents say Mr Kyrgios helped police follow the luxury car by using an app on his mobile phone to track it and placing a speed limit of 80 km/h on it.
The 32-year-old, who isn’t named for legal reasons, has been charged with aggravated robbery and refused bail.
ACT Policing then raided a home in Gilmore on Tuesday afternoon (2 May) and allegedly found a shotgun. Police believe it was the gun used during the alleged robbery.
Police also say they seized a pistol and a .177 air rifle, an unreturned rented BMW, commercial-grade fireworks, and substances suspected of being illicit drugs.

Court documents say that Mr Kyrgios’s mother had partially opened the front door of a Canberra home on Monday to find a mask-wearing man standing outside and holding a long-barrelled firearm that was pointed at her.
He allegedly forced the door open with his gun, demanded the keys to Mr Kyrgios’ green Tesla, which was parked nearby, then pointed the gun towards her and demanded she tell him how to drive it.
It is reported she was escorted outside at gunpoint but ran back inside the home and screamed for help when the man got inside the car.
Police found the Tesla parked on a street about 15 minutes after it was stolen, but the driver allegedly sped away when they approached.
A pursuit was started, with police allegedly chasing the car through Canberra while Mr Kyrgios gave them updates on its location.
Officers cornered the car in Ainslie at about 9 am and the man was allegedly pulled from the driver’s seat and arrested after a struggle, during which he was tasered.
His matter will be heard in court again later in May.
