EcoAction has word of this year’s Harvest Festival:
Venue: Canberra Environment Centre
(Cnr Lennox Crossing & Lawson Crescent, Acton – by the National Museum)Crash your Carbon food miles.
The Canberra Harvest Festival is on again! We’re back this year with delicious, local organic goodies, free workshops, organic gardens, a gourmet organic lunch, and great live music!! There’ll be free workshops on everything from backyard beekeeping, seed blocking, making compost tea to a presentation from Canberra Loves 40% titled The Smarter City: How can acting on Climate Change make life better in Canberra?. There will also be the Kids’ Biggest & Best Organic Fruit & Vegetable Competition (Register by 2pm, Winner announced at 3pm) again this year as well as a kid’s play area so you can grab a coffee & cake and keep an eye on the little ones from afar.
Fabulous entertainment, including The Wedded Bliss, The Cashews, Beth ‘n’ Ben & James Fahy Trio will be playing through the afternoon, so you can get yourself a glass of organic wine and kick back under the trees with some friends.
So come along to the lovely grounds of the Environment Centre, stop in at a workshop, have a local lunch to the sweet sounds of fabulous Canberra-based musicians, and crash your carbon ‘food miles’ with some great local produce.
Ride your bike to receive a complimentary bike tune, courtesy of the Recyclery.
