Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) opened its doors 15 years ago this coming Saturday 16 February and we are inviting everyone to come and celebrate our birthday with us.
Join us from 2pm this Saturday for cake, art activities for children, a new exhibition and a book launch.
Take a whirlwind tour through the highlights of CMAG’s ?rst 15 years.
Gain an insight into life behind the microphone at ABC 666 Canberra with ACT Local Content Manager Andrea Ho as she opens our exciting new exhibition Canberra on air: 60 years of ABC Local Radio.
Sing along with the rousing 666 Community Choir, including a rendition of the all important Happy Birthday. The exhibition celebrates the history of the ABC’s local radio broadcasting with historic equipment, t-shirts, posters, photographs, memorabilia and awards.
At 3.30pm His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres, Timor-Leste Ambassador to Australia, will launch the new Canberra Friends of Dili book, ‘Ten Canberrans and the Sleeping Crocodile: A travel diary of Timor-Leste’. Written by historian Dr Stephen Utick, this illustrated travel diary showcases the wonderful association of Canberrans and Canberra organisations with Timorese people and projects, while taking the Australian reader on an amazing expedition through Timor-Leste’s Districts.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase with pro?ts supporting the Canberra Friends’ humanitarian works in Dili.
