Joy Burch has announced how she’s splitting a $185,000 piece of ACT Art Fund pie:
“These three organisations play an important role in the ACT arts landscape and I am very pleased that they have secured funding for 2013,” Ms Burch said.
Australian National Capital Artists (ANCA) is an artist-run-initiative that promotes the visual arts by providing affordable and professional studio and exhibition space to artists. ANCA has 35 purpose-built artist studios in Dickson and Mitchell.
“ANCA will receive almost $35,000 to help it run its gallery, which is a training ground for artists in an environment that is focused on quality exhibitions, collaboration, and the development of social and creative networks.”
The Canberra International Film Festival will receive $75,000 to stage its annual 12-day film festival presenting a program of diverse international and Australian cinema with a focus on linguistic and cultural diversity, premiering new release feature films and independent Australian films.
Pro-Musica Inc will also receive $75,000 to produce the Canberra International Music Festival. The Festival is held over 10 days with over 30 events including concerts presented in national institutions and Canberra’s iconic architectural spaces.
