A real life El Gordo scam!

I’d heard about Spanish Lottery scams but this one, as received by a friend here in Macquarie, is the first one I’ve seen.

Perforated paper with signature thingies, lined sections and bar codes all over it certainly looks legit.

Sadly if you were to fill out your credit card details and send it back off in the reply paid envelope to the Netherlands the only thing you’d win would be an empty account.

Which is a shame because the things I could do with $3.7 billion do not bear thinking about.

I got one of these just after changing addresses earlier this year – and at that time the only people who had the new address were the real estate agents.

Hmmmmmmm.

Anyone would be a fool to give their credit card or account details away to anon people/firms.

Still, I see it happen in my line of work with great regularity.

I agree 100%, but some people are desperate, and with that sometimes comes delusion. Not to mention the oldies who really can be convinced by some of these things. there really should be more of an international effort to pull these pricks through the ringer and put them behind bars.

Did someone say $3.7 billion? Yippee!! I’m rich! I’m rich! I’m rich! I’m rich! I’m rich! I’m rich! I’m rich!

Indeed – the most unbelievable part about these scams are that people fall for them.

Anyone would be a fool to give their credit card or account details away to anon people/firms.

Still, I see it happen in my line of work with great regularity.
