In a worrying result Canberra-based journalists Gerard McManus and Michael Harvey received a criminal conviction and a $7000 fine each in a Victorian court yesterday for contempt of court for refusing to reveal a source of a leaked and accurate memo of no national security or other importance that may put lives at risk other than being embarrassing to the Federal Government.
