ACT records 28 new cases of COVID-19

The ACT has recorded 28 new cases of COVID-19 to 8 pm last night.

Yesterday the ACT recorded 24 new cases.

There are 21 people in ACT hospitals with COVID, including 10 in intensive care. Eight require ventilation.

A total of 2048 tests were conducted in the 24 hours to 9 am today. There are 425 active cases in the ACT.

Of the Territory’s 12-plus population, 83.1 per cent are now fully vaccinated.

ACT Health has announced further casual contact dates and times for the HealthFount Medical Centre at Macquarie. Friday, 15 October between 9:25 am and 11:15 am and between 3:20 pm and 4:20 pm have been listed.

Health says casual contact locations have a lower risk of onward transmission to people who were at the location at the date and times identified. If you receive an alert text message informing you that you are a casual contact, you should follow the casual contact instructions.

No close or monitor for symptoms sites have been named.

NSW has recorded 372 new local cases to 8 pm last night and one death – the lowest daily death toll in months.

There are currently 523 people in NSW hospitals with COVID and 124 in ICU.

NSW has reported that 82.3 per cent of their 16-plus population is now fully vaccinated.

Yesterday there were 283 cases and seven deaths in NSW.

Cases in Victoria spiked dramatically from 1841 new cases and 12 deaths yesterday to 2232 new locally acquired cases and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Victoria will exit the world’s longest lockdown at midnight tonight.

Australia has also today passed the 70 per cent fully vaccinated milestone.
