Bed and breakfast close to Canberra?

David and Jenny Kilby’s B&B set up in the old train carriages is really good. Close enough to Murrumbateman to have dinner at Shaw’s, David will serve you a lovely breakfast and he’s a very entertaining and genial host. Browsing his memorabilia is a real highlight.

Poetix – love the idea, but got a couple of small kids and we need to be close enough to get back in case of any problems (but far enough to consider it a getaway).

Oh yeah…+1.0E6 for Schonegg. I spent a very happy weekend there last year with my wife. Can’t recommend it highly enough for a local getaway from it all.

I have to stop posting on the iPad. It does nothing for my spelling credibility.

How about hiring a beach place for the weekend (or better sill, a couple of days during the week, if you can manage it) and taking a hamper of lovely things instead, and wine you usually wouldn’t buy?

After Straya Day it should become less crowded at the beaches.
