Bomb squad out in Evatt

ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious package in Evatt that was located by the home owner earlier this morning (Tuesday, February 21).

About 7.30am police received a report of a suspicious package at a residential address in Evatt. Members from Belconnen Police Station attended and requested the Bomb Response Team to the location.

About 9.30am, a number of residents from Cawthorn Crescent, Small Place and Badenoch Crescent were evacuated.

The Bomb Response Team assessed the package and rendered it safe. Residents were allowed to return to their homes about 12.05pm.
