“Flabbergastingly good stuff, this. Canberra’s own Brisk, have delivered a corker first time out, an LP of such staggering maturity you’d think they’d been at it for years on the production circuit. The grasp of dynamics on show here is scintillating, as the band lurch from howling fury to tasteful restraint in the blink of an eye. Album closer ‘Saint Anthony’s Fire’ is the undoubted highlight but to single one out of eight excellent tracks as ‘the best’ is, frankly, stupid. And they’re in with a chance of my extremely important ‘best title of the year award’ with ‘At Least I’ve Got My Fucking Health’. Brilliant.
