Territory And Municipal Services are warning that the bus drivers (apparently unable to organise postal or online voting) are taking lunch off work Thursday (16 June) to vote on their latest pay deal.
“The Transport Workers Union (TWU) has requested a meeting of their members to discuss and vote on ACTION’s certified agreement offer,” Mr Roncon said. “The meeting of up to 650 employees has been scheduled for 11 am to 1 pm Thursday 16 June 2011.
“As a result, bus services will not run between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday. Buses will remain in operation for the morning peak period and be back on the road prior to the afternoon peak.
“Measures have been put in place to ensure the meeting does not affect school bus services and special needs transport services.
You’ve been warned.
