Buses to the Brumbies

By johnboy - 17 June 2013 14

ACTION have published destails of the bus services to tomorrow night’s blockbuster game against the British and Irish Lions at Canberra Stadium.

Catching the bus beats the hell out of sitting in the car park for an hour after the game.

Plus you meet your fellow fans!

Meanwhile the Brumbies are taking a tough, but no doubt fair, stand against Red.

Meanwhile, there’s Australia v Iraq for a place in the World Cup in Brazil.

That was rather stressful. (-:

I just rang Duxton and they will be showing the soccer/football/round-ball game in the bistro.

Both Foxtel and SBS are showing the game. Foxtel coverage starts from 7.30pm, SBS from 8pm.

Both sound pretty boring choices.

Then do something else to amuse yourself you big sook.

SBS 1 or SBS HD on one hour delay… coverage starts at 8pm, kick-off I assume at 8:30pm. They take the Fox commentators (Simon Hill and Andy Harper), so you only have to put up with Fozzy frothings in between (although if Harper may come up with another “spawning salmon” comment or similar). Also, no ads during play!

Do the “destails” come from that horse? 🙂

I’d imagine the vast majority of pubs that have more than one telly would be showing oth the Brumbies and the Socceroos.

I see their timetables are still as hopelessly unrealistic as they were for the Aus vs NZ NRL test match recently.

Despite the fact that it was a sellout game, and the buses were sharing the same jammed roads out to the stadium as everyone else trying to drive to the game, they still claim that it’ll take 15 minutes from the city no matter what time you leave. Which based on my experience last time, turned into a trip closer to 45 minutes.

Which I guess you should expect, but surely Action can do better than blindly basing their timetable on how long it normally takes with no events on?

“The easiest way to get to Canberra Stadium is on a free chartered bus”

Is that the same as “a free subsidised lunch”?
