TAMS are putting it out there that you might have a better time getting a free bus to The Show:

If you are planning on enjoying the fun and festivities of the 2013 ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show, on Friday 22 to Sunday 24 February 2013 at Exhibition Park, the most convenient way to get there is on an ACTION bus.

Pre-purchased family tickets to the Show include free return travel to Exhibition Park on any ACTION bus, including connecting services. Simply show the driver your family ticket when boarding.

Pre-purchased tickets are on sale until Thursday 21 February 2013 and are available from the
ActewAGL Assist store on City Walk in Civic, the ActewAGL Energy Shop in Fyshwick or The
Marketplace in Gungahlin.

In addition to the regular routes servicing Exhibition Park, extra services will operate over the Show weekend. These services will run between Exhibition Park and the Belconnen, City, Tuggeranong and Woden bus stations, as well as The Marketplace in Gungahlin. Regular fares will apply.

Free chartered services will operate on the Friday and Saturday evening, departing from Exhibition Park to the City Bus Station at around 8 pm after the fireworks display.

There will be limited parking options, so show goers are encouraged to travel with ACTION and have someone else take care of the driving for them.

It seems that only those who need the ‘family’ ticket can get a free bus. Strange.
