Katy Gallagher is set to join Tony Abbott’s trade mission to China this week with a vision of attracting more investment into Canberra.
The delegation arrive in Shanghai on Thursday and will be joined by the ANU and UC vice-chancellors (Prof. Ian Young and Prof. Stephen Parker), to promote our local universities.
The main focus of the talks is on infrastructure, tourism and education.
I can’t help but recall watching Four Corners last night and hearing about China’s reliance on shadow banks and the potential instability created due to this and wonder what impact a local reliance on Chinese business would have if the markets were to shift as some currently predict.
