The ABC reports that the long running Revolve fiasco has ended with thousands of dollars in cleanup requires at the Mugga Lane tip:

After a protracted dispute with the ACT Government over unpaid rent, Revolve has complied with a recent Supreme Court order to leave site.

Some scrap metal has been removed but taxpayers will foot the clean-up bill for remaining piles of rubbish.

Mike Brown from ACT Property Group says the clean-up will be costly.

How hard and expensive can it be? Get a loader and a truck, scoop up all the crap and drive what 500m to the tipface and dump it. For $10K I’ll do it if it’s too hard for them.

I’m guessing that a pretty large part of that suggested cost would be the tip fees for dumping the stuff 500m up the road. Really, if they got some ACT employees to do it, and didn’t charge themselves for the tip fees, it would be a a whole lot cheaper.

i hope they take their pet cats with them. I’d hate for them just to be dumped or forgotten. They used to look kind of cute curled up on the couch in the shack.

Karma… ACT Gubmnt shafted Revolve, Revolve shafts Gubmnt. The Gubmnt started it. I didn’t have any particular fondness for Revolve and I had more or less stopped going there when they became pricey and inflexible, but… they had established a business that the Gubmnt hadn’t even thought of, and their thankyou was to lose their livelihood to an obviously underpriced quote from a shonk who went bust. I say sucko ACT Gubmnt, your fat arsed cats sitting in their plush offices determining others’ livelihoods with little more than the stroke of a dick pen won’t get their dues over this, they’ve already been promoted for their efficiency divedend of course, but perhaps, just perhaps someone will consider the longer term consequences next time of their lack of consideration.

I’m wondering just how much more attractive the place will look after they clean up that particular pile of crap. Will it be a big improvement to the look of the place?
